About Us
The establishment of Sri Ram Narayan Singh Memorial High School was guided by a powerful vision and unwavering commitment to education. Founded in 1963 by Smt. Triveni Singh and Sri Ram Narayan Singh—distinguished educationists and visionary leaders of their time—the school was created with the noble aim of serving students coming from the middle class. The school is affiliated to the CISCE (ICSE and ISC) Board, New Delhi.
We firmly believe that one of the foremost responsibilities of a school is to ensure the continuity of harmony in society by passing on its traditions, values, experiences, and cultural heritage from one generation to the next. The progress of any society depends significantly on the effective transmission of knowledge and skills across generations.
Our institution not only preserves cultural heritage but also actively contributes to the enrichment and advancement of culture and civilisation. As A. Cannon has aptly observed, “If each generation had to learn for itself what has been learned by its predecessors, no intellectual or social development would be possible, and the present state of society would be little different from that of the old Stone Age.” In this context, the school plays a vital role in continuously reorganising and refining human experiences to foster cultural and civilisational growth.
Over the years, the functions and responsibilities of the school have expanded considerably. Education today extends far beyond the traditional focus on the three R’s—Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. The concept of education has evolved, so has the role of the school. With the New Education Policy as our driving force, our school has become more comprehensive, dynamic, inclusive, and forward-looking.
Today, the school is dedicated to the holistic development of each child. Education is viewed as the all-round development of personality—encompassing physical, intellectual, moral, social, and spiritual growth. The school offers all three streams- Science, Commerce, and Humanities, with verities of subject combinations, including Legal Studies, Computer, Pure as well as Applied Mathematics, so as to ensure that no child is left behind. Through a rich blend of curricular and co-curricular activities, the school nurtures the child’s social, creative, and artistic potential, while at the same time helping the child preserve his/her individuality. As a result, students not only acquire knowledge but also develop essential habits, skills, and attitudes necessary for life.
In preparing students for success in modern society, the school emphasises on the importance of social efficiency. Within a democratic framework, children are guided and trained in the values and practices of democratic living. Accordingly, school programmes are thoughtfully designed to instil responsibility, cooperation, and active citizenship in every learner.
